We finished interviews in time to race back to Royal for their first play off game this evening. Erin Allred packed hot roast beef sandwiches for us to eat on the way, and we arrived just after the kick off. This Division 1A team has won many State Championships over the years, and the whole town shows up for their games.
One of the fun things here is that the majority of the boys on the team are LDS, and game night is like a ward activity! The Coach Allred and several of the officials are also LDS and the announcer is the Stake Patriarch! We had such a fun evening cheering these young men on with Royal neighbors and friends.
Another fun part of our evening was texting with our Orem neighbors, the Hawkes family, who’s grandson is #14 below. While I sent them photos of him, they sent me a photo of our house across the street! What a fun evening, with a blow-out win, 69-zip.
