Today was our MLC meeting here at the Mission Home. We meet every month with our Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders (ZLs and STLs). We look forward to this incredible meeting every month. It’s a time for planning and goal setting and training and receiving revelation about what we are doing here in the Yakima Mission. We love being together! My favorite part is lingering in the wings as the missionaries come in from the four corners of the mission, and watching them greet each other. Most have served together at some point in their stay here, and they get so excited to see each other and hear about their old areas and friends. We met from 10:00 this morning until 5:00 this evening. It was a wonderful day with exceptional missionaries. I wish you all could have listened in.This morning we talked about how to improve and enhance missionary dinners with members. Most have a dinner appointment every evening. This is such a wonderful time to bring light and joy into the homes of our local ward members. We also talked about the new Christmas media initiative and how to best use it in our work. It’s amazing. Take a look here:
We spent some time exploring all the corners of the website and all the amazing offerings there, then talked about how to share this with others.
Lunch time! Today we served Fajitas, rice and beans, and brownies. This is another recipe you’ll want to have on hand. The Elders voted it their favorite so far! Some Elders are a JOY to feed. Elder Woodward is one. Group photos:Goof balls center stage:Elder Oliver’s hair gets shorter each month. Matching ties:And orange hair:This afternoon each zone reported their monthly goals and successes and did a spotlight on a companionship. We set new goals for January. In November we had 44 baptisms! Amazing. Doubled from previous months. Good things are happening here. The day passed way too quickly. I hate for these kinds of days to end and I don’t like sending missionaries home, but they have work to do!Go safely, dear friends.
