This afternoon was day 2 of meeting with our newest missionaries, this time in Quincy with all those from the northern parts of the mission. This is one of our favorite meetings because we get to see those who just arrived last week, after they’ve had a few days to settle in and work. It’s amazing to us how quickly they adapt to a whole new life, living with a new companion they’ve never known, doing hard things that can be a bit overwhelming or frightening at first. It’s fun to hear them introduce each other. We talk about our purpose in being here. We talk about adjusting to mission life. We hear about their experiences and hear the excitement in their voices.
We stand together and sing our mission song, “Called to Serve” and feel unity in our purpose. It’s pretty wonderful. Below are pictures from our day. See if you can find a sad face in the bunch. There wasn’t one. These are amazing missionaries, filled with light. These are more of our Trainers, the best we have. We had break-out sessions this afternoon where President Lewis and I met with the trainers and the APs met with the new missionaries.
