Today was a big moving day in the Yakima area. We are trying hard to get missionaries into the areas where they are serving. Until now, missionaries in Yakima have been scattered all over the place, some living far from their tracting areas. Not all have cars or bikes, so it gets tricky.
So today we had a big shift. Below are a few photos of missionaries moving in and missionaries moving out. We started this morning, and went from place to place, transporting STUFF so the missionaries could keep working throughout the day. They each had a window of time to meet us with their belongings and get the stuff loaded into our truck and van. It was a pretty fun day.
I’m thinking today was a good day. It’s not often a missionary apartment is completely emptied for someone new to move in. Lots of old junk was discarded or cleaned out. Fridges were emptied. Food was sorted. Supplies were counted. Furniture was re-arranged. And many missionaries realized just how much they’ve accumulated. I’ll bet no one fits into 2 suitcases anymore. Some had carloads! It was a good exercise for all of us!
Below are a sampling of photos from the day. Way more will be in an album on FB. I’ll bet many of you (out there) used to live in one or more of these places if you served in Yakima. You’ll enjoy glimpses of your old living areas.
Now let’s all get back to work and teach the gospel!
