This morning at 8:00 a.m. we had a special session of Stake Conference with all of our Wenatchee Stake Spanish speaking members and missionaries. It was so wonderful to hear our church leaders teach in Spanish, including Elder Christofferson. The missionaries loved every minute, and so did all the rest of us!
Afterwards, Elder Christofferson shook every single hand before going across town to the Stake Center for the 10:00 session.
After the early morning Spanish session, we drove over to the Stake Center in East Wenatchee for the general session. Pres. Lewis and I spent the night here with President Hunsaker and his beautiful family. He’s done an amazing thing, preparing these good members of the stake to hear an Apostle today. 1700 chairs were set up and filled in this building. The Spanish translation took place in the building where we met this morning.
I had to behave (and not take photos until afterwards). President Lewis and I are always invited to sit on the stand and we are usually invited to speak at stake conferences, as we did yesterday and today. There was a rich outpouring of the Spirit in Wenatchee today. We were grateful to be there with these good missionaries:On of the highlights of our weekend was seeing Elder Nate Carter again with his parents. He finished his mission last month and was back for a visit. These missionaries are like our children and reunions are Sweet.
As Elder Christofferson closed his remarks, he pronounced an Apostolic blessing on those in attendance. He blessed us that we would have greater faith, that we would be able to identify and follow the will of God, even to change our current reality if needed. He blessed us with greater power to resist temptation, saying we could bind Satan now (as he will be bound during the Millennium with our righteousness). He said that as we pray, study and attend the temple, we would be blessed with added light and knowledge that will be delicious to us. “I sense deeply the Lord’s love for you. You have infinite worth in His eyes. I know Him and bear witness of him.”
Afterwards we finished the last of our interviews with these two awesome Wenatchee Zone Leaders:
