Cherry Season!

Here’s what’s growing around town!   I took these photos at the Johnson Farms orchards yesterday, 5 minutes from the Mission Home.

We’ve been hearing random gun shots going off all hours of the day for the last 2 weeks.  This morning I learned that they are going off in orchards near us to frighten birds away.  Hungry birds love cherries.  So do we.  We are praying for good crops, but there are many challenges as you can read below.  We love our WA farmers.

Temperatures here in Yakima this week have topped 100 degrees.  That’s a lot of heat for the fruit in these Washington orchards.
