This is how I make my favorite salad:
Toss together:
Greens: a good mixture of romaine, iceburg, spring mix and spinach
Chopped celery, cucumber, sliced radishes, slivered red cabbage
A good sprinkling of chopped fresh cilantro, fresh basil, chives and fresh parsley
Top with: chopped tomatoes, feta cheese and walnuts
Add thinly sliced steak or tri-tip (I love the pre-marinated tri-tip from Costco. It takes about an hour to bake. You can make it ahead and slice it very thinly with an electric knife). One tri-tip, sliced is enough for about 10 women. (Elders would take twice as much!)
This is my very favorite go to salad dressing and it’s especially good on this salad:
My favorite summer dessert is angel food cake (topped with a scoop of pineapple sherbet, then covered with fresh berries. You can add a dollop of whipped cream if you like.
Don’t even dream of buying the cake. It’s the easiest cake to make!
