Interviews Goldendale

2016-7-26 Goldendale (1).JPGHeaded south today and our first stop was in Goldendale where Elder Jeff and Elder Oliverson are serving.  We met in the Family History Center there.  These 2 Elders are doing a great job here.  I enjoyed visiting with them about how they’ve changed since coming on their missions:

Elder Jeffs and Elder Oliverson2016-7-26 Interviews Goldendale (1)Elder Jeffs:  I’ve become more loving.  I actually want to care for people.  I want to be very kind.  I’m working on my speech.  Before I did lots of teasing.  Not much heart-felt communication.  I actually have a desire now to follow the Lord.  Before I didn’t really go (stay) in church.  I didn’t see a reason to.  I didn’t see a reason to do what the Lord asks us to do.  My Mom is awesome.  I had no plan to go on a mission.  Then I got my Patriarchal Blessing.  I didn’t believe in personal revelation at that point.  My blessing said I’d be called on a mission.  Now I’m here.  I’ve been able to be a missionary to friends back home.  (20 mos.)

Elder Oliverson:  I’ve seen a lot of change!  Before I didn’t really talk about God.  I did my church duties, I was an OK child in a big family with 7 kids.  I didn’t express love verbally.  Now We say it and we feel it.  I’ve started talking about God.  It changes things a lot.  My attitude about church has changed.  Before I thought I was “active.”  My life is more structured now.  I’m on time.  I love church.  I stay awake now and pay attention.  My attitude has changed.  Before I was a people pleaser.  Now I think about others first and God. 2016-7-26 Interviews Goldendale (2)
