Elder Jenkins was up early for the first leg of the transfer wagon, down to The Dalles. He left here at 7:30 with the APs heading to the transfer site in Goldendale, where members took him the rest of the way to The Dalles after bringing missionaries from The Dalles Zone to Goldendale to come to Yakima. He was off before the rest were up and moving. We let them sleep in until 7:30 this morning. They needed an extra hour.Breakfast was at 8:00. Moms, you will want to try the breakfast recipes in the recipe link here on the blog. Especially popular is the homemade cinnamon cream syrup. “Is this what God puts on His pancakes?” “Is it OK if I just drink this?” “I really didn’t want another waffle. I just wanted more syrrup.”
The Santa Fe Egg Casserole is also everyone’s favorite. “These are the Best Eggs I’ve Ever Eaten!” Please try them. You won’t be sorry. And of course there is always a pile of bacon. Yum.After breakfast, everyone organized their stuff and at 9:00 we started more orientation meetings. We went through a whole packet of materials about life in the mission. Good stuff. I love seeing missionaries keeping their journals up to date! The Sisters slept downstairs and the 6 Elders were upstairs last night.Orientation Meeting:Then we packed lunches for the day. Some will be taking road trips to the far corners of the mission! Then we all gathered in the office for the unveiling of the Transfer Board. We let each find their picture and their new companion. It’s fun. It’s like Christmas. I wish you could all be here to watch the excitement. Then everyone tagged their bags, loaded them up, and we headed to the Yakima Stake Center, for the next part of Transfer Day.
