We waited to hear if Sadis Pass was clear before heading south to The Dalles down in Oregon this afternoon. We were sad to miss the rest of the baptisms, but excited to see our missionaries in The Dalles Zone for Stake Conference. Weather down south has been bad, with a huge snow storm blowing through last night.
Elder Devn Cornish was our visiting General Authority. He flew in to Portland and the roads between Portland and The Dalles were closed because of the icy conditions. Somehow he made it through in time for the 4:00 Priesthood Leadership Session. Travel from our direction wasn’t as bad. Hood River and Stevenson and the areas south of The Dalles had about 2 feet of snow, and very few of those members were able to get out and come to the conference. We were grateful for all who made it safely and we missed seeing the rest.
All the missionaries made it safely! The Evening Session was wonderful. What an outpouring of the Spirit! Those who were able to come were richly blessed for being here. President Lewis & I got to speak about Missionary Work and Family History Work, my 2 FAVORITE topics. And Elder Cornish taught us well. What a great day in the WYM. It is a blessing to be here.
Here are our missionaries after the Evening Session with the Coles, who are a great help to our missionaries in The Dalles Stake. We love them.Sister Coles brought this huge box of soap for our Days for Girls kits!
