This is one of our family favorites. We call them Cocoa Puff Puds. We learned how to make these when our boys were in Cub Scouts. They look ugly, but they are Everyone’s Favorites. We made a big batch for The Dalles Zone’s visit to Yakima earlier in the week, and these 5 are all that were left after they passed through town. Yesterday when we went to The Dalles, the first thing they asked was if we’d brought more Puds. Sorry. They never last very long. You’ll want to try these.
Cocoa Puff Puds
Melt until smooth (if you cook this too long, the puds will be hard–just melt until smooth):
1 cup sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
Add:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
Mix in:
4 cups of Cocoa Puff cereal
1 cup chopped pecans
Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and let cool. Then hide some before anyone sees them because they disappear fast.
If you don’t have pecans, you can use 2 cups of chunky peanut butter instead.
