Everyone spent some time filling out their departure questionnaires about their mission experiences, then we marked the Wall of Honor in the garage:
Then the Yakima Valley STLs came to pick up Hna Hurst to take her home with them for the rest of the evening so she could get some rest after a long day of travel. Here are a few more hellos and good byes from these good Hermanas:And a sampling of what little was left of the fabulous apple cake with cream sauce:Before our final testimony meeting, we took our departing group shot. What amazing Sisters!
Of course the Elders needed photos too:
We gathered together after that for our final testimony meeting with this group. It was a sweet time. Each shared an experience from their mission that strengthened their testimony. These are such wonderful Sisters and they have done wonderful things here. I wish you all could listen in on evenings like this one. After we finished, Pres Lewis gave out the departure packets and gifts. The Sisters get a mission pin and pendant with our logo, along with a CD with all of their letters to the President, the Newsletters and maps of all of their areas. They also get a history of their companions and areas, their Christmas tree ornament, Mission logos and a letter from us.Flight plans and boarding passes are also there. We reviewed the plan for tomorrow, then we were finished with the business. We topped off the evening with a rousing game of Rhythm Sticks.Sister Averett and Elder Taele were the last two standing:Then farewell to the Elders, and to bed.The make up comes off, the PJs come on, but the missionary spirit never dies. Love to you all, and sleep tight.
