An Early Morning Departure

2017-4-25 Departing Group (12)Alarm clocks started going off at about 3:00 a.m. for our 4:00 departure to the Yakima Air Terminal.  Yes, it’s the middle of the night.  That was a short night!  We grabbed granola bars, fruit, or cereal.2017-4-25 Departing Group (15)Luggage is loaded into the mission truck, and we are off into the dark early morning. Fake Smiles all around.2017-4-25 Departing Group (20)At the airport:2017-4-25 Departing Group (22)2017-4-25 Departing Group (23)2017-4-25 Departing Group (24)Local members and friends came to wish them well.2017-4-25 Departing Group (26)2017-4-25 Departing Group (27)2017-4-25 Departing Group (28)2017-4-25 Departing Group (30)2017-4-25 Departing Group (32)2017-4-25 Departing Group (34)2017-4-25 Departing Group (36)2017-4-25 Departing Group (37)2017-4-25 Departing Group (38)2017-4-25 Departing Group (39)Between the tears:2017-4-25 Departing Group (40)The point of no return:2017-4-25 Departing Group (41)Boarding the flight to Seattle:2017-4-25 Departing Group (45)2017-4-25 Departing Group (46)2017-4-25 Departing Group (47)And they’re off!  Sigh.2017-4-25 Departing Group (48)We limped home alone, in our empty vehicles.  Did I say ALONE?  So sad.  Part of my heart is in that airplane, going away from me.
