Today was a big day for our missionaries! Early this morning, we all drove to Richland from every area in our mission to be there to meet an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. Good members helped with transporting everyone from our four corners. We arrived in Richland by 8:30 and gathered in the chapel. The Kennewick missionaries were to be there at 8:00.
Here we are arriving:
I wish I could have taken some photos in the chapel. It was the first time we’ve seen all of our missionaries in One Place since we’ve been here! As we waited there, quietly while the Kennewick missionaries went over by the temple to have their group photo taken, I stood at the front of the chapel looking into all of the faces of all of our missionaries. What a BEAUTIFUL SIGHT! I had to turn away to hide the tears streaming down my face. I feel like a mother to these missionaries, every single one. They are so dear to me.
Here we are, all lined up by height, ready to file onto the risers for our group shot:And the Elders:Here is the Kennewick Mission’s group photo from my little camera:Waiting our turn:Filing onto the risers:I will add my notes from the talks given during our 3 hour meeting soon.
After the meeting Elder Anderson met with Elder Olson. Elder Olson’s father was a missionary in France and Elder Anderson was his Mission President there. Elder Olson’s father died tragically in a river rafting accident while Elder Olson’s been here. Elder Anderson wanted to visit with him and share some memories of his father. He also had some photos for Elder Olson. It was a sweet visit.
After that, all the missionaries were handed sack lunches and they went straight to their cars to return to their areas. Pres Lewis and I were swept into a luncheon that was prepared for all of the visitors and for the Stake Presidents and their wives. After the luncheon all the Priesthood leaders from our two mission areas had a Priesthood Leadership Meeting from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m.
