Today was our monthly MLC meeting here at the Mission Home. This is always one of our favorites. Our Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders from all over the mission come together in council and we are instructed and edified. Truly. It’s always a fantastic day for all of us. It’s fun to be together, it’s fun to learn and discuss. It’s fun to have a great home-cooked meal. It’s all good.
Here is the calm before the storm:And here they come! This mission home was made for missionaries. The spaces and places are perfect for our needs and for these missionaries to feel at home here.A bit of prelude before we got started. Here are our Mission Leaders:Opening hymn:Today’s agenda:The Assistants teaching:Short break:Healthy treats:Pres Lewis teaching:A group photo before lunch:And then the feast began! Today we served grilled teriyaki chicken tenders, sticky rice or a rice medley, an Asian salad, and watermelon with fresh local blueberries. How many chicken tenders can one Elder eat?? I think the average was 6.Oh my, you are going to want some of this Hawaiian Cake. Watch for the recipe to be posted here on the blog. And who can turn down Texas sheet cake?? No one here.Leftovers? NONE.
Thanks to Sister Monique Garcia and Sister Murrena Edwards for all their help putting things together. Sometimes I feel like Mrs. Hughes on Downton Abbey with all the planning, organizing, shopping for groceries, preparing menus and recipes. Then I go to meetings with our missionaries and the magic in the kitchen happens and everything comes together. It’s great to have such good help!Time to go back to work!
