After a great sleep, these three refugees were up and ready to go. They filled out arrival forms, had a delicious breakfast, and gathered their cleaned clothes. President Lewis interviewed each of them and then we headed to the Mission Office.
Here’s the view today from the back deck:
We invited the APs and some ZLs over for breakfast so they could all get acquainted.
The Elders wore Pres Lewis’s clothes while theirs were in the dryer.
And we heard stories of the adventures of their last week in Puerto Rico.
Each got to call home to check in and unwind a bit.
Arrival photos:
And then we revealed their areas and companions:
Elder Judy is going to Mattawa, Elder Martinez is staying in Yakima, and Hermana Brenchley is going to Moses Lake. Tuesday Hermana Goff went to Warden.
Then we loaded up and went to the Office in town, eating fresh Yakima apples on the way. It’s about a 15 min drive from the Mission Home. The couples there were ready and waiting to receive and instruct them about cars, phones, mission supplies, etc.
Then we celebrated Christmas! Kind and good local members had gathered clothing and personal items for the Elder Judy, who left everything he had behind. Luckily Elder Martinez was able to get all of his belongings out of Puerto Rico with him.
Hermana Brenchley was able to go back for some of her things too, and her mom sent several boxes of clothing and supplies for her.
Everything was a perfect fit!
The Yakima STLs dropped by to meet Hna Brenchley.
Others dropped by to say hello and welcome.
Thanks to all of the families who helped collect and gather and purchase clothing and items for these missionaries.
Mod Pizza for lunch!
A little time to email:
And love from all of our office couples:
Here these 3 are, ready to head out to their new areas!
The Pendleburys drove Elder Judy and Hna Brenchley north.
We took Elder Martinez to meet his new companions here in Yakima.
Let the good work continue! We’re grateful these 4 new missionaries are here, safe and sound, and ready to join the greatest group of missionaries ever!
