Today we met in Wenatchee for Zone Conference #2. The goodness continues. We have the Best Missionaries Ever. And they are Everywhere we go! Come take a look at our day:Getting things ready:
Reviewing the agenda with our Omak Zone Leaders, Elder Donakey and Elder Nielson:
Ready to roll:
Prelude by Elder Bown:
And we begin at 9:00 a.m.
Today’s agenda:
I got to go first. I’ll post my notes a bit later.
Pres Lewis taught next about coming unto Christ as we prepare for the holiday season.
Then the STLs, Hna Lindsay and Hna Shewell did an hour long training on the new Light the World Christmas initiative. We are so excited!
We played a game filled with role plays and fun.
These STLs are Great!
Here are the teams for the game:
Next the Assistants did a great training on Weekly Planning. Every companionship does up to 3 hours of weekly planning every Friday. It’s a big deal. We use our time wisely. Preach My Gospel has great instructions and teaches us the process. The Wenatchee Zone Leaders, Elder Bown and Elder Walker actually planned for one of their investigators with all of us.
After, all the ZLs and the STLs, as a panel, answered questions about weekly planning, daily planning and companion study.
Then it was time for the group photo before lunch. We were HUNGRY!!
Today’s delicious menu: pulled pork sandwiches, chips, all sorts of salads and a special cake for dessert. We are So grateful for the members who feed us such delicious food.
Here are some of our lunch helpers. We love them.
While we finished eating, we got to hear from our new Daily Dose couple, the Nelsons from Chelan. They’ll be fantastic!
Then we had a special guest–Pres. Hal Hunsaker from the Wenatchee Stake spoke to us about a new missionary effort being piloted in this stake–working with Melchizedek Priesthood holders who are resting right now. It’s time to love them back into activity. Pres Hunsaker is an incredible stake president. We are so grateful to have him here.
Then we celebrated birthdays (November and December).
Then Elder Pendlebury gave his vehicle instructions.
Regulating the mission (that means going over things we need to do or not do) and bits and pieces about things like “who needs a swifter?”
Then we had an hour for zone break-out sessions. The Zone Leaders in each zone get to decide what they want to talk about in their groups. Here is our Wenatchee Zone:
And our Omak Zone:
At the end they rehearsed their special musical number, before performing for the whole group.
When we were all together again, they sang a beautiful rendition of “How Firm a Foundation.”
Then we had departing testimonies from Elder Aguirre and Hna Shewell, It’s hard to imagine them leaving us. Then Pres Lewis added his closing remarks and we finished with our closing hymn around the piano.
After the meeting ended we gave out the newsletters and t-shirts to those who missed getting theirs at the Mission Home a few weeks ago.
Recording some medical information for Elder Woodward:
Another excellent zone conference is over. The APs stayed in Wenatchee to work with the Elders here and we headed to Ephrata for stake meetings there tonight. Snow is expected. But we are filled with warmth.
All the photos taken today will be posted in a Facebook album on our mission page.
