We were on our way to Wenatchee very early this morning. Today was a Big Day in the WYM. Our first group of missionaries received their Smart Phones!! Missionaries arrived at the Wenatchee Stake Center at 8:30 for car inspections, and then they went in to receive their phones and start setting them up.
Sister Call had all the phones charged and ready to go.
The Assistants had the room set up and the technology all hooked up.

As the missionaries arrived, they received their new phones and instructions on starting their set up.
Elder and Sister McKeen helped everyone.
By 9:15 we were ready to begin our zone conference!
We began with more instruction on setting up the phones. SIM cards were put into the new phones. Every companionship shares a SIM card–one phone has the card and acts as a hot spot for the other phone.

Then we took a little break from the phones and Pres Lewis and I did some training on working with members.
During my part on getting to know the members, I gave each companionship a card file box with 100 3×5 cards. This will be a place to record good information about each family or individual in the wards where they serve.
Here is a sample of the type of information they can record on the member families. The intent is to help the missionaries get to know the members better and more quickly when they come into a new area. This will be so fun. As they get acquainted with the families and individuals in each ward, they can record what they find out. When they leave an area, the next new missionary will have a head start on making friends with the members there. They can add new information to the cards as they learn it.
Everyone filled out their first cards and we shared examples. 
Then Pres Lewis concluded with his final points.
Then our Zone Leader companionships did the rest of the trainings today with the phones and setting up the Area Book Planner and the different apps.

Tomorrow we’ll be in Zillah, Thursday we’ll be in Yakima, and Friday in Moses Lake.
