Today is our last full day in Yakima. We had lists of things to do as we finish up our work here. We stopped by the office this morning to prepare a few more documents and to finish getting things ready for the Jackmans, who would arrive this afternoon.
The APs have on the ties they picked out of Pres Lewis’s tie collection. Each AP has gone home with one of his favorite ties. It’s something they do here.We have both spent a lot of time this week backing up and transferring files for Pres and Sis Jackman. It’s hard to empty your head (and heart) into someone else’s, but we are trying our best. There have been several emails, phone calls and facetime visits between us and the Jackmans these last few weeks as we prepare.
We also made one last stop at our favorite fruit farm for some bakery items and for some cherries and apricots for our drive home. The cherries on the trees are so beautiful this time of year. Then we spent some time delivering fresh baked pear-oatmeal cookies to our neighbors and friends before heading to the airport to greet Pres and Sis Jackman. Their flight was scheduled to arrive at 2:45.
