We arrived in Selah this morning and were met by a parking lot full of missionary cars with Brother Ott from SLC and Elder Sainsbury, who helps with the vehicles. They were hard at work swapping out the old TIWIs for the new.
Here’s how they look once they’re mounted:
Inside, the missionaries were gathering. Come take a look:Going over the agenda with Selah Zone Leaders, Elder Powell and Elder Black:
Time to begin!
Brother Ott taught and entertained us again with amazing stories about Attitude, Obedience, Accountability and Safety. He’s very good at what he does!
He awarded donuts for the 2 cleanest vehicles:
Then Sister Call shared her Samuel Smith Story (see previous posts).
And then the STLs gave a 45 min training on OYMs and good door approaches.
Role plays:
Our Senior Couples: The Royals (Just Serve), Sister Schilling (Nurse), the McKeens (CES), Sister Pendlebury (Finance), Sister Smith (Housing) and the Calls.
Donut break!
Then our Yakima Zone Leaders, Elder Putnam and Elder Johnson did a 45 min training on teaching the Restoration, with more role plays.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, the Selah 2nd Ward Wonder Women were preparing lunch for us.
Then we took our group photos before lunch:
I’m improving with the selfie stick!
Time for lunch!
Tacos, chips & queso, toppings apples, tangerines and brownies!
Beautiful lunch ladies!
And singing out thanks to them:
Elder Pendlebury says a few car words:
Celebrating birthdays!
Some Mission Regulating from the Calls and Pres Lewis:
Then we went into our zone break out sessions. Here is the Selah Zone:
And here is the Yakima Zone:
Our conference ended with a beautiful musical number by Elder Hanna, playing his own arrangement of “I Stand All Amazed,” then we had departing testimonies by Elders Bird, Hanna, Kneip and Peterson.
After the closing song and prayer, we handed out the Newsletters! Yay.
We are getting better and better at taking down, packing up and moving out!
I watched these last Elders heading to their truck, then saw them stop, and pray. It made my heart swell. These missionaries, who serve all over the world, and here in the WYM, are the best youth to be found anywhere in the world. They work hard, they love God and they are here to help lift the people around them. I’m proud enough to be their mother!
All the photos taken today will be posted in an album on our Facebook page.
